In SEO the Merger Technique is the process of using a relevant dead business (expired domain) and merging it (301 redirecting it) with your business. A 301 redirect is a permanent redirect which passes between 90-99% of link equity (ranking power) to the redirected page.

This is a shady SEO practice that does works for some people but I wouldn't recommend it. If the domain has expired this usually sends a signal to Google to lower its value as it hasn't been maintained properly. It will probably not bring anything even if you redirect it. But you could always try and see what happens.

A merger usually involves combining two companies into a single larger company. The combination of the two companies involves a transfer of ownership!

It is a technique in which we are using dead businesses whose domains are expired and merging them by redirecting it 301 with our business. If it is done correctly it can gain DA and trust which will make the site ranking at the top.
