How often is Alexa ranking updated?
About 1-2 time per month
I use to check it often and they use to update the daily traffic parts of the stats on a daily basis to every 2 days. The 3 months section, they update that every few weeks or something.
I think it depends on quality steady traffic. My directory currently has a ranking of 244k and steadily going down (which is good) and it has only been up for a month.

Often used to determine the daily statistics every two days and is part of everyday motion is used to update the part of 0.3 months, and updated in a few weeks or something teumada.
It updates for me every 7 days.

The alexa rank is based on three months of aggregated historical traffic data from millions of Alexa Toolbar users and data obtained from other, diverse traffic data sources, and is a combined measure of page views and users (reach). As a first step, Alexa computes the reach and number of page views for all sites on the Web on a daily basis. It's based on where those with the Alexa toolbar installed go. I don't remember who said it, but in an old thread I remember reading you can increase your Alexa rankings by installing the toolbar, going to your site, and refreshing the page over and over.
It depends on the performance of the website. My site's Alexa Ranking updates almost every day. :)
