Alexa can be faked easily. And even if it isn't faked it's still inaccurate because Alexa only ranks sites based on who has the Alexa toolbar. You can easily improve it by installing Alexa toolbar on your website and visiting it a couple of times in a day...
After all, how can data generated by less than 10% of total websites give us any idea about quality or popularity of those sites?
