I started using a search engine called Duck Duck Go. You can also use dukgo.com for short. I think it's a pretty cool search engine.

I'm in love with Google much more.
But I did go and try the SE you're talking about.
From my observation, I can say that its quite simple and yeah no ads.
But I'm more to images searcher and it's simpler for me to use Google images search shortcut.
The Good- Nice search engine, pretty good results, simple
The Bad- No image search, no video search
If it added the image and video search I would actually consider using it.

I tried it and you know what your favorite ... Why not? It is for the benefit of Google as their search on the Google ads have mixed almost completely during the advertising is provided free of charge. I am free because of ads on occassion would like to use a search engine.

Yea, I've heard that Duck Duck Go is the search engine for people who don't like to be controlled at every search. It's results are also somewhat uncensored.

It is not provide exact search results, Google have the best quality of search engine results compare to other search results.
duckduckgo is only used in Australia but Google.com is used all over the world so i think you are wasting your time in duckduckgo.
DuckDuckGo promote Scam websites to the top of their search lists, just like the others! I thought they were an ethical business, but found out to my loss (when I trusted their link) to buy a Rod Licence. They promoted a direct link into this scam website, which had the Environment Agency name on it, without any mention of additional fees etc.

Duck Duck Go is a great search engine! I've been using it for a few months now and I love the privacy it offers. I also like that it doesn't track my searches or show me ads based on my search history. It's definitely a great alternative to the major search engines.
DuckDuckGo is cute, but let's not kid ourselves - it's no match for Google. Sure, it's privacy-focused, but at what cost? The search results often feel like they're stuck in the past. As a webmaster, I find it hard to recommend a platform that doesn't provide the depth and breadth of information users need.
