My questions is does your website general purpose have to match that of the extension? For example am I allowed to have a hobbyist site with an extension of .biz? Or have a domain based in U.S. with .tk or .cc ? Thanks in advance.

In terms of Search Engine rankings, it doesn't matter whatever extension do you have in the domain. However, .com extensions are much more trusted when it comes to user behavior.

Instead of a region specific one, you can have a generic and common TLD. Region specific TLD's are preferred by business people or services that are targeted only for that respective country. For example:if someone wishes to start a dog maintenance company only in France probably they would seek a .fr TLD. A Domain name is a string of words that identifies a website. We should be very careful with the naming conventions

* The domain name is very important for any business and it should be easy to remember without much punctuations.

* It should be unique and related to business.

* It should be short and catchy.

* If it is of universal accepted TLD's like .com,.info its advantageous.Hence you too can change to a .com TLD.

In choosing the registrar also one should be very careful. The registrar should be reliable and provide services at affordable cost.I chose 9cubehosting.com since the cost is low when I get the domain registration and hosting as a package from them.
