Is there any importance in terms of SEO with regards to domain names like science-facts.com and sciencefacts.com.  Which domain is better and what are the pros and cons of both. I know usually non-hyphenated go first but what about hyphenated, do the search engines look down upon them! ???

I like more non hyphenated domain names. But I think, you can get seo benefits from hyphenated names.

Gotta go for non-hyphenated all the time. In fact I'd rather go for  a .info non-hyphen domain than go for a hyphen .com or .net or .org.

I don't think hyphens give you much of an SEO boost at all

I don't agree. hyphenated domain can give you much more seo benefits than non-hyphenated.
F.e. seo-forum.com and seoforum.com.
The difference is evident.

I think we all prefer non-hyphenated, but hyphenated do pack a punch even with the hyphens. I'd suggest go for non-hyphenated first, if it's not available try the hyphenated one. It's better than nothing right!

It's not like that....just because a domain name is hyphenated...it cannot be classified as non trusted....I feel the popularity is less for a non hyphenated domain because it is difficult to remember by the users...A Domain name is a string of words that identifies a website. We should be very careful with the naming conventions

* The domain name is very important for any business and it should be easy to remember without much punctuations.

* It should be unique and related to business.

* It should be short and catchy.

* If it is of universal accepted TLD's like .com,.biz,.info is more advantageous.

In choosing the registrar also one should be very careful. The registrar should be reliable and provide services at affordable cost.I chose 9cubehosting.com since the cost is low when I get the domain registration and hosting as a package from them.

There is still controversy over the issue that hyphenated domains are good or not. These websites provide some difficulty while addressing the url to other persons verbally or for searching online otherwise these are good. There are thousands of hyphenated sites running over the net.
These are created when TLD domain extensions are not available.
