Definitely, Because 404 pages provide bad user experience feed back as well as link broken report to search engines. We should redirect 404 pages to any other relative page with the help of 301 redirection code.

In theory, 404s have an impact on rankings. But not the rankings of a whole site. If a page returns a 404 error code, it means it doesn't exist, so Google and other search engines will not index it. ... However, it's not so much the actual 404 pages that hurt SEO, but the links that contain URLs pointing to the 404s.

"Many experts say that the 404s will crash your rankings and that you should fix them As Soon As Possible. But the truth is, 404s are a  part of the web and actually are useful.
Think about it, If a specific page didn't exist, wouldn't you prefer to know it other than being constantly redirected to another random page? It's similar on the web.
While it's the best idea to redirect an old page that has been deleted to a new page, it's not a good idea to redirect all 404s to your homepage."

Having many 404s can hurt crawl efficiency and dilute link equity, negatively impacting your SEO.
It's best to fix or redirect these URLs using 301s to preserve link juice and improve site health. Ignoring them risks ranking penalties and visitor frustration.
