I think in the seo process both no follow and do follow links matter
do follow count as back link to the site from search engine. It's important for site ranking to get quality back links.no follow doesn't count as back link to the site from search engine but it can be helpful as an traffic generate source if it's come from high pr sites.
Do follow links are having a do follow attribute which mean that they get crawled by the search engine bots, while the no follow are the opposite ones. Do follow links are having a great importance in the SEO because they get indexed easily thus your backlinks count gets increased.
Both dofollow and nofollow links are important for SEO. dofollow links help in building backlinks for your website. It also helps in sharing the link juice of the blog where it is placed. nofollow links are helpful in generating traffic from high visitor blogs and websites.
The only method which I found is that do follow links are getting crawled by the search engine bots, while no follow don't. So they are very helpful in increasing the ranking in the search engine.
Do follow as backlink count to your website from search-engines. It's essential for site rating to get quality back links. No follow doesn't count as back link to the site from se but it can be beneficial if it's come from high PR sites as a traffic produces resource.
Do follow Links :
This is the most powerful way to influence search engines to refocus a lot of traffic to your site.If you get or use dofollow links, then search engines will understand your links as inbound links and you have more possibilities to receive positive values for your site's ranking.
No Follow Links :
Nofollow links can be appropriate to your post's situation and can come from the sources which have a possible to generate high referral traffic.
Nofollow links are not for crawling links by search engines which effect the rank of a blog or website in the search engines.
Hello jaysh4922,
You are all right, but in SEO we must try to build as many dofollow backlinks. Dofollow backlinks are helpful to improve site ranking and reputation also. So, instead doing work in no follow, try to work in do follow links.
When a crawler finds a dofollow link of your website on any other website then the crawler will crawl that link and come on your website.
While in a nofollow link, crawler will not crawl that link and will not come on your website.
Backlinks are very important for a website if you want to rank your site in Search Engines. there are two types of link do follow and no follow both types have their own importance. Do follow links easily crawled by search engine boots and help for keyword ranking. No follow links increase referral traffic source.
See bro,
Do-Follow means,
Google Follow the link
No-Follow means,
Google do not follow the link.
If your site contains both do & no follow links, It is natural backlinks. If you have only do-follow links, then it is paid links. If you have only no-follow links, then it will be called as Spam site.
Hello Fried, it is nice and basic topic when you enter into any SEO based forum, the topic of links either "Do-follow" or "No-follow".
Many people has their own views regarding these both and i read the above discussion also, in which many of my pal may be get the wrong meaning of "No-follow".
It is obvious and well know that, when it comes "Do-follow", we all have a clear vision, that i count as back-link, and whether in case of "No-follow", it is not count as a back-link, i have a query wen you check the back-link for the website, what does any tool that you are using, does the tool doesn't show the "No-follow" links as the back-links for your website in the report. So how we can say that it does not count as the back-link. It do count but it don't have any impact on "PA" "DA" or "PR" of the webpage.
Some people say that "Google" doesn't crawl "No-follow", it does crawl if "Google" doesn't crawl, then how it knows that the link is "Do-follow" or "No-follow", yes but the website which points to your site with the "No-follow link", does not allow you to get the "link juice" of that webpage.
Hey i am going to add one more topic here, the above discussion is about the links that we are going to get, but what if we are going to provide links to other, which types of links you will going to get to others "Do-follow" or "No-follow", lets start here.
Do follow:
Dofollow links allow google (all search engines) to follow them and reach our website.
Example:
<a href="http://www.google.com/">Google</a>
No follow:
No follow link attributes do not allow the search engines bots to follow links.
Example:
<a href="http://www.google.com/" rel="nofollow">google</a>
No follow and do follow are the type of back link that tells search engines to crawl them. As in do follow it tells search engines to crawl it and index it but no follow is just the opposite. So for a website to rank top need maximum do follow link not no follow.
I think in the seo process both no follow and do follow links matter
do follow count as back link to the site from search engine. It's important for site ranking to get quality back links.no follow doesn't count as back link to the site from search engine but it can be helpful as an traffic generate source if it's come from high pr sites.
Dofollow :-This is the most capable approach to impact internet searchers to redirect a great deal of movement to your webpage. Web search tool crawlers creep the entire substance on your site page including pictures, joins, essential words and so on. At whatever point they discover a connection, if the connection is dofollow interface then the crawlers take after the connection and arrive on other site page. In the event that you need to get listed in google and rank high on google then you need to concentrate on these dofollow backlinks. In the event that you get or use dofollow joins, then web search tools will disentangle your connections as backlinks and you have more opportunities to get positive qualities for your webpage's positioning
No-follow:- Nofollow connections might be pertinent to your post's setting and can originate from the sources which can possibly produce high referral movement. Nofollow backlinks are overlooked via web search tool crawlers. At whatever point you are interfacing to any site which is not of high esteem then utilize rel="nofollow" property in your html of the page. Nofollow connections are not for slithering connections via web crawlers which impact the rank of an online journal or site in the web search tools.
As from SEO point of both No-follow and Do-Follow links are important, but they should be in ratio, well do-follow is given more preference as in that pr of the page on which link is putted is shared with the page of whom link is given.from this both have benefit specially the page whose link is putted on the other page.

A no-follow backlink is basically a link that does not pass on the SEO benefits of the source site to the blog where the link points to. Search engine bots will crawl on this link, but they will not literally follow where it is pointed to.

Links that "point" to another site are called do follow links. 'Do follow' links are crawled by search engine bots and thus they contribute to website backlink building. where as A no follow link is a link that doesn't "point" to another site as no follow links are never crawled by search engine spiders and hence they do not contribute to backlink building.
Nofollow links attributes do not allow search engine bots to follow link. That means if the website owner is linking back to you with nofollow attributes, it does not pass on link juice. Dofollow links allow google (all search engines) to follow them and reach our website. Giving us link juice and a backlink.
A no follow link is a link that does not count as a point in the page's favor, does not boost PageRank, and doesn't help a page's placement in the SERPs, do follow link is the opposite. Both can contribute on your website popularity.
Nofollow is an HTML attribute value used to instruct search engines bots that a hyperlink should not influence the link target's ranking in the search engine's index. Nofollow connections traits don't permit web index bots to take after link. That implies if the site proprietor is connecting back to you with nofollow qualities, it doesn't go on connection juice. Just Humans will have the capacity to take after the connections. Despite the fact that some time back Google made it clear that they don't consider nofollow connection characteristics yet weightage of such connections are truly less. Despite the fact that, it's a decent practice to utilize Nofollow connection credit to those connection, where you would prefer not to pass connection juice.
Dofollow connections permit google (all web indexes) to tail them and achieve our site. Giving us join juice and a backlink. On the off chance that a website admin is connecting back to you with this connection both Search Engine and Humans will have the capacity to tail you. The most ideal approach to give somebody dofollow adoration is permitting catchphrase in the grapple content. This implies when you are connecting to any site or page, utilize the focused on watchword as stay content.

I completely agree with you, for any website to rank in Google it need to have Dofollow as well as Nofollow backlink. A website with only one type of link i.e. Dofollow or Nofollow can get penalized by the Google.
Do follow Back links is the most powerful way to influence search engines to redirect a lot of traffic to your site. Search engine crawlers crawl the whole content on your webpage including images, links, keywords etc.
No follow links can be relevant to your post's context and can come from the sources which have a potential to generate high referral traffic.
A dofollow link will pass the SEO strength of the page to the site that it links to. A nofollow link, in theory, will not do this. That's the main difference between the two.
By that argumentation, you may assume that a nofollow link will not help you rank for a keyword, but I don't think this is completely the case. Having a link to your site in any capacity may improve the "authority" of your site. Moz uses Page Authority and Domain Authority to measure this and, while not an official Google metric, it stands to say that if you have 2 identical sites, one has 5 nofollow links and the other has none, Google may well think that the site with the links has more authority or trust and may treat it more favorably.
As for seeing if a link is dofollow or nofollow, you can either inspect the website source code, or a convenient and hassle-free way to test is with toolbar like Moz toolbar. That toolbar contains an option to highlight the links on the page - green links are dofollow and pink links are nofollow.
If you check website with toolbar, you should be able to see a pattern of whether they allow for dofollow or nofollow links - but in the end, this is at the discretion of the webmaster. !-! :D

Very well explained hieronymusf01, thanks for sharing your insights regarding the difference of those link type.
In today's algorithm-driven world, the value of a link is determined by its relevance, authority, and user engagement, not by whether it's do-follow or no-follow. So, why bother with no-follow links at all? They're just a way to pretend like you're doing something to help your website's SEO when in reality, you're just wasting your time.
And what's the point of having a do-follow link if it's not going to get you any real traffic or conversions?
A do-follow link passes SEO value (link juice) to the linked site, boosting its ranking. A no-follow link doesn't pass SEO value, instructing search engines not to influence rankings.
Understanding the difference between dofollow and nofollow links is crucial for SEO. Dofollow links pass link equity and help with rankings, while nofollow links don't, but they still drive traffic and brand awareness. A balanced mix is key for a natural backlink profile.

These links are valuable for increasing organic traffic and credibility.

No-Follow Links – No SEO Value, But Still Useful
No-follow links contain a special HTML tag (rel="nofollow") that tells search engines not to pass link juice to the linked website.
While they don't directly impact rankings, they are useful for brand awareness, referral traffic, and a natural backlink profile.
