Post by: itsjohnthronton on 03-03-2017, 08:27:30
Hi,

I have been out in SEO and now making a comeback after around 6 months. As we all know, SEO changes every minute so I wanted to know if backlinks are still the main ranking factors or not.

Plus, please share the linking strategies that are working for you right now. Like, social bookmarking, profile backlinks etc.

maybe. depending on the quality of the site which became a source of backlinks. If the site is bad then your website is also bad, and vice versa.

Every backlink to your website is counted as a vote for your site. So always make sure whenever you are getting any reference to your website should be from reputed domain so that it should hamper your website

Yes! Having high quality backlinks can greatly help your site in ranking and can help your domain authority increase as well. When you focus on creating relevant links within the text of your site by getting backlinks, it gives you more search engine value which in turn will help increase the traffic to your site, increase your domain authority, and help you rank better in search engines.

When you increase the amount of outbound links from your site, you will not only increase the relevancy of your content, but it is also believed to send trust signals to Google and improve SEO ranking.

Obviously backlink has helped to boost the ranking, but it's not a necessary. you never depend on backlinks, for boost up ranking always update new content, your business related news, upcoming business news, avoid spamming, regular update with social networks.

It takes 10 weeks on average to see 1 rank jump.
More links do have a more immediate effect. I promoted some material that got me around 20 links to one of his pages, which was being outranked by other pages with about 6 more inbound links. It took my page 5–10 weeks to move from #9 to #5.
It seems that each link has a small to medium effect initially, but that effect increases over time. If you add a lot of links at once, you're not only going to see faster results, you're going to see much bigger results over time.

The lower the rank, the more effect a link has
The pages that I observed that were already ranking on the first page of SERPs didn't show much of a rankings increase with one link, barely moving over one spot in 22 weeks. In contrast, pages ranking on the second or deeper pages of SERPs took off after 8–9 weeks.

Higher DA will move the needle faster
Unsurprisingly, a higher DA will have a bigger effect — in fact, you can see that the average rank change for a page that got a link from a site with a DA below 25 actually dropped after 13 weeks, then recovered to barely two ranks up.

Yes, Google (Search Engines) takes notes of dofollow links and figures how many users are linking to your page in order to get how really good the page is. The more and more quality dofollow links you have, the more points you will get from search engines. The foremost way to give the follow link is to use the keyword as the anchor text.

Yup the backlinks will always boost if you got it from high quality authoritative site. It definitely works. Try to get from guest posts from GA sites relevant to your niche. Social media is much efficient   for traffic generation and backlinks too.

Backlinks are still and without any doubt the number 1 ranking factor on Google.

Ofcause there are other metrics that are important, but without links you wont be anywhere to find in the searchresults.

Backlinks remain an extremely important Google ranking factor. Your content can boost shares, which should therefore improve Google rankings. We found that title tag keyword usage still slightly correlates with rankings.

Sure, they used to be the holy grail, but with search engines getting smarter, it's not just about link juice anymore. Many sites with fewer backlinks are outranking those with a ton of low-quality links. The focus should shift to user engagement metrics and content quality, which are far more indicative of a site's true value. Chasing backlinks can lead to a spammy profile that may even get you penalized.
