by updating algorithm, Google is trying to move people on Ad words. but still those people have idea about Google algorithm they are still in SEO.

In coming days there is a huge scope in SEO.because till date people are not that much aware aboutt seo.so with all knowledge and work there may be a bright career in seo.
I think SEO demand will increase much more than before. Whatever the change in algorithm SEO will be almost same what is happening today. It is gradually becoming content based and more emphasis of SMM. looking back to 2008 to now, there is no drastic changes without a little bit carefully.
Google's ongoing struggle with identifying and discounting webspam means that many SEOs will spend frustratingly long hours watching for and disavowing potentially risky links.
I am working on Google SEO right from 2007 and my inference is that a major part of Google's ranking algorithm still exists except with a few exceptions like Panda and Penguin updates. These updates operate on top of the existing old algorithm. So if you understand how not to get hit by these updates, you can still survive and rank well on organic search results.

With some massive updates by Google the SEO still alive in a very effective way, I am talking about blind techniques of seo is obsolete, but now the days SEO status is rising with these updates because it needs a lots of attention and strategies to chase results, I think futures of SEO will be modified into different stages but never gonna die.
The future of SEO is bright as search engine optimization helps to build your website presence and your online reputation in search engines. Without seo you won't be able to create your online identity.

As long as you will be able to cope up with the trend in SEO then I can say that it will still work. SEO is needed to uplift brand awareness, and to rank on search engine.
