Title: Nofollow Widget
Post by: chrisknight on 06-08-2016, 01:30:52
Hello Everyone,

We have a business review website that businesses use to collect their customer reviews.... they can also use one of our widgets to put on their own website and this automatically displays the most recent reviews they collected with us to their own visitors.

Now what we have found is that within 6-8 weeks of a business installing our widget on their website their business page on our site is ranking number one to three on google search results for "Their Business Name Reviews"....along with the google stars.

Our widget has nofollow tags etc.

We are not SEO guys, but how can we best explain this result in SEO terms....for marketing....is it simply back linking via nofollow tags giving better PA or how could we better describe it.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Regards
Chris

If you sold a link.
If someone paid you to post their content.
If you are in any way nervous that you might be penalized for the link.
Sitewide link to person who designed your site – although many people will follow links to company names.
Widgets.

The nofollow tag allows a site to add a link that abstains from being an editorial vote. Using nofollow is a safe way to buy links, because it's a machine-readable way to specify that a link doesn't have to be counted as a vote by a search engine.
