Post by: WendyK on 05-08-2010, 22:59:02
How many keywords is too many?  I'd like about 6 keywords for my article that search engines will find is this too many?  A couple of these keywords are two words and three words long.  Thanks for any help.

It is not too many, but I think that this is the limit. Try to repeat them many times in the article.

I completely agree.  If you have your keyword only 4 times but all are in the first sentence and isn't a helpful article your rankings will be very low..If you spread out your keyword each paragraph of content and your title/header too this is a good way to get high SEO

This amount of keywords is quite normal . Just don't write articles with 20+ keywords..

I think beyond a particular point they become too many. As long as an article remains focused it's alright, but if there is no focus on your keywords that's when you know you've gone too far.

I think its best to take only few keywords. Get your articles indexed and stuff and then add more. Don't try to do it quick , because you will not succeed .

You should have about 5 keywords or less that you really want the search engine to see and you can have lesser keywords too.  You want to match the use of keywords depending on how lengthy each page of content is.  The longer your article the more often your keywords should show up in the text.

It is true.  The number of keywords that are employed should be a few if you are aiming at good results.  A kind of research is necessary at this point as to find out which are the most searched keyword for a particular product or service or subject.

Have not more that 5 keywords.  Many are repetitions or reiterations.  No use having too many.

4-6 keywords are enough. but they should be accurate and related to the article. Use the very specific keyword in the title/header, in the body, in the anchor tag and in alt tag. Do not use extensively in the whole page, it will reduce the importance of it. You can repeat the keywords but in different ways, such as a key phrase, a small sentence or as a hyperlink.

I usually slip in 2-3 keywords over 5 is too many. Especially if there all too highly related. Plus it's gotta look relevant and natural, how can you do that if you keep slipping in 5-6 linked keywords again and again, looks super spammy boys and girls!

I can tolerate up to three keywords. Six is too much for same keywords in an article. How can you enjoy reading repetition of same keywords in the post I make? I can't enjoy many keywords in an article or post like this I'm writing. Having too many keywords is not effective and may get you banned.

Hi..

2 to 4% keyword in the article is best for you else google will consider you as a spammer. So be careful!

if you have a website with exactly 100 words on it including all headlines, captions, alt text, and advertising, and you have a keyword phrase that is on the page 3 times, your keyword density is 3%. There are one formula which i found from the internet and it's working.
Keyword Density= Number of repeats of the keyword / total number of words on the page * 100
