in early 2012 the emphasis has been on the use of googles +1 in the SERPS, google has spent a lot of money investing in this finction so im very sure they will not drop this out of there algo for quite a long time.
One thing I'm hypothesizing will become a huge factor is anchor text in link building. It seems as if google has caught onto anchor text spam for backlinks. My guess is that within the next few months, Google will place less and less importance on anchor text for backlinks and focus more on the quality of the site linking to yours. One great practice you can do to combat this is to avoid brute force linking. Instead of targeting the same keyword over and over, throw in some variation. Add in some adjectives, pronouns, articles etc. This will make your link building efforts look less spammy.
