Title: .COM or :ES links ?
Post by: Mando Control on 07-24-2011, 04:16:32
Hello,

I have a question about backlinks to my spanish site.

My site ranks well in google.com but not in google.es and i has to rank well in google.es

Most of my links are from .com sites some spanish but a lot of english sites.

The question is, when i do linkbuilding is it possible to rank wel in google.es with links from .com sites or do need to have .es backlinks?

Yes, geographic location of backlinking websites influence your local rankings. But there are many other techniques that may help you in improving your local web rankings,
- Submit your website to local search engines
- Submit your website to local directories
- Set your target geographic locaion in Google webmaster tools
- Get active on social media sites which are popular in your target country

P.S. : Ranking well in both local global listing sometimes is not possible. While optimizing your website for local listing you may lose your global listings.

but i think if your site is ranking in google.com then you don't take tension because .com is better than .es.if your site is ranking in .com then automatcally after some site it will rank in .es.

You can do local SEO. When you put keywords, include the place where you're from or where you want to rank - in your case, Spain.
