I would love to answer the question of how to get a backlink from Wikipedia, you must have excellent writing skills and your post must be relevant to the real-world industry. Links from Wikipedia will help you achieve a high ranking.

This is interesting. I haven't tried it. But, I assume you ask to be a contributor and you could make all the links you want. I was thinking of creating my own wiki though - that would be cool. But, wikipedia backlinks would give some clout because they have been around for so long. If something is backlinked on wikipedia it for sure is going to get indexed and ranked. You could show up as a reference too on wikipedia if your content is original, relevant and good.

It will be a detailed process before you can have your website's wikipedia page and it will requires high reputable recommended pages and own summary of the brand to introduce in wikipedia before it will be approved. It will take time.

Step 1: Define a Short But Broad Query Set.
Step 2: Identify Heavily Trafficked Pages Where Wikipedia Ranks.
Step 3: Create a Resource on the Topic.
Step 4: Insert the Link on the Target Wikipedia Page.

If your site is linked from a Wikipedia page it will generate additional links from other websites looking to use your site as a reference! So Wikipedia isn't only a backlink, it's a traffic generating, natural backlink generating machine!

Wikipedia is one of the biggest open source platform. However it is still not easy to acquire a backlink from there and there are moderators who check what is being edited or posted on Wikipedia before been published.
