I came across this great article on Social Link Building Tips by Search Engine Watch's very own Eric Enge.
Makes a lot of sense and if more people got their head around it there would be less spammers I personally think. So what do people think of it?
Got any you think where missed?
These are the best basic Link Building Tips :
1) Social bookmarking
2) Directory submission
3) Article marketing
4) Blog commenting
5) Contextual links from theme related pages
Thanks and Regards

Again nice share on this forum, quite enjoyed reading some of his articles. A lot of it ok was a waste of time reading for me but sometimes people are able to write things in a way that makes it enjoyable to reread it... Or I'm just too bored!!
I can share some advice on social link building, which typically involves:
Creating and Sharing Quality Content: One of the best ways to gain social links is to create unique, high-quality content that others want to share. Blogs, infographics, videos, research articles, webinars, and podcasts can all be effective forms of content.
Engaging with Your Online Community: By engaging with users on social platforms, you can build a strong community that will be more likely to share your content. This can involve replying to comments, liking and sharing other users' content, answering questions, etc.
Collaborating with Influencers: Influencers often have large social followings, and by partnering with them, you can greatly increase your content's reach. This could involve them sharing your content, or even creating content together.
Leveraging Social Media for Guest Blogging: Guest blogging is a great way to gain valuable backlinks. Use social media to connect with website owners and bloggers who might be willing to allow you to write a guest post for their site.
Using Social Bookmarking Sites: Websites like Reddit, Digg, or StumbleUpon can often be useful platforms for gaining social links. Again, this tactic works best when you are sharing high-quality content that genuinely appeals to the users on these sites.
Running Contests or Giveaways: Conducting social media contests or giveaways can also encourage your followers to share your content, thereby gaining you more links.
Social Media Optimized (SMO) Content: When you create content that is optimized for social media, it gets more shares and likes, which increases its visibility. This includes using keywords, catchy captions, and attractive images, among other techniques.
Consistent social media posting: Regularly posting on your social media channels helps to keep your audience engaged. Regular posts can ensure that you remain on your audience's radar, increasing the likelihood of your content being shared.
Create and participate in relevant groups: Join Facebook Groups, LinkedIn Groups, Reddit forums, and other similar platforms where your target audience is likely to be. By sharing your insights and content in these groups, you can gain social links and establish yourself as an authoritative figure in your field.
Use social media ads: Using social media advertising can also help increase the visibility of your content to a larger audience. Platforms like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn provide various targeting options to help you reach the right audience.
Interactive content: This could be quizzes, games, or polls. This type of content engages the audience and encourages them to share it with their network.
Cross-Promotion: Share your content across multiple social media networks to expand your reach. What works on one platform may also work well on another.
Events and Webinars: Hosting events or webinars on topics relevant to your niche can help attract a larger audience. Promote these events across your social channels and encourage attendees to share the information within their networks, which can help you earn more backlinks.
Utilize User-generated Content (UGC): Encourage your followers to share their content related to your brand or products. This could be through reviews, unboxing videos, or other forms of UGC.
Leverage Industry Forums: Participate in industry-related forums or Q&A sites such as Quora. By offering expert answers to questions related to your field, you can gain credibility and increase the chances that people will link back to your site for more information.
Creating Infographics: Infographics are a visually appealing way of sharing complex information, making them highly shareable. By creating infographics related to your niche and sharing them on your social channels, you can create another opportunity for people to link back to your site.
Hashtags: Use relevant hashtags in your posts to improve their discoverability. Research to identify popular hashtags in your industry and include them in your posts to reach a wider audience.
Social Media Monitoring: Use social media monitoring tools to track mentions of your brand or relevant keywords. By doing this, you can identify opportunities to engage with potential customers or influencers and earn backlinks.
Testimonials: Writing testimonials for products you've used and liked can get you a mention or a backlink on the website of the product/service.

I don't need to repeat what other people had already said and mentioned in this thread.
By analyzing the title of this thread, social links. It means you do most of marketing and promotion in famous and well-known Social Media Sites (Facebook, Twitter, etc), Social Bookmarking Sites (Pinterest, StumbleUpon) or just being social in forums and message boards.
Be a real person that helps other people to solve whatever problem they may have.
One thing I consider whenever I need to promote my site or optimize it for it to be found by search engines is hire experts. Try seodataservice website and see if their available packages may entice you.
Don't forget to be kind and solve other peoples' problems. Thank you.
It yaps about social signals and anchor text to dodge spammers, but what about the gritty truth of expired domain backlinks that skyrocket domain authority overnight? The SEO crowd might swallow its ethical BS, but it conveniently skips how black-hat tactics like private blog networks still dominate link juice flows, laughing at Penguin updates.
If more people "got their head around it," we'd have even more boring, stagnant sites - where's the provocation in that? Enge misses the mark on leveraging link arbitrage through expired domains, proving he's out of touch with the cutthroat domainer world.
Optimize profiles, create viral content (infographics, videos), tag influencers and actively engage in industry groups to encourage sharing and backlinks.
