301 redirection is known as permanent redirection and it is helpful to redirect a page permanently from one location to another. If you redirect a page through 301 redirection, it retrieves the already received values of backlinks from that old page(from where it was redirected to new one).

A 301 redirect is a permanent redirect from one URL to another. 301 redirects send site visitors and search engines to a different URL than the one they originally typed into their browser or selected from a search engine results page.

Thanks I was wondering what this meant.  I have a couple broken links on my game design website so I'm going to use a 301 re-direct and hopefully not get punished by SEO :)
301 indicates to both browsers and search engine bots that the page has moved permanently to new URL. 301 redirects pass 90% to 99% link equity to the new URL and Google won't punish your website for redirecting old URLs to the new ones. So just work on your broken links and the issue will be resolved. Use appropriate method to redirect URLs and have a check if they are working fine or not.

301 redirects send site companies and search engines to another URL than the one they originally typed into their browser or selected from a search engine results page. I removed five times in the last year.

A 301 redirect is a permanent redirect which passes between 90-99% of link equity (ranking power) to the redirected page. 301 refers to the HTTP status code for this type of redirect. In most instances, the 301 redirect is the best method for implementing redirects on a website.

A 301 redirect is like a permanent change of address for a website. Imagine you're moving to a new house, and you want to make sure all your friends know where to find you. You'd give them your new address, right? A 301 redirect does the same thing for websites.

It tells search engines like Google and browsers like Chrome that a webpage has moved to a new location, so they can update their records and send visitors to the right place. This is super effective because it helps maintain your website's search engine ranking and ensures that users can still find your content.

A 301 redirect is a permanent redirect in SEO that tells search engines to permanently move a webpage from one URL to another. This is important because it helps prevent duplicate content issues and ensures that search engine rankings and traffic are transferred to the new URL.The method for implementing a 301 redirect depends on your website's platform and technical expertise. However, most platforms, including WordPress, have plugins or built-in tools that can help you set up redirects.
