No follow links are the links that are not crawled by search engines whereas do follow links are crawled by search engines which is more important to rank a website in google. So do follow links plays a major role in ranking a website.

Nofollow Links are used to instruct search engines that a hyperlink should not influence the link target's ranking in the search engine's index, while Dofollow Links are used to instruct search engines that a hyperlink should influence the link target's ranking in the search engine's index to reach up to desired website.  :-*  :-*  :-*  :-*  :-*

There are two kinds of backlinks

1.Dofollow Backlink

2.Nofollow Backlink.

Search engine crawlers crawl the whole content on your webpage including images, links, keywords etc.Whenever they find a link,if the link is dofollow link then the crawlers follow the link and land on other webpage. If you want to get indexed in google and rank high on google then you have to focus on these dofollow backlinks.

Nofollow backlinks are ignored by search engine crawlers.Whenever you are linking to any website which is not of high value then use rel="nofollow" attribute in your html of the webpage.

Well, the main difference between nofollow and dofollow is

Nofollow = not followed by search engines
Dofollow = followed by search engines

It doesn't mean that nofollow links are not tracked by Google, Google knows each and every thing we do to promote our website.

Based on current ranking prediction, we need to use both nofollow and dofollow links so that we would be able to show natural link profile to Google search engine.

There are two kids for back link.
No follow links are the links that are not crawled by search engines whereas do follow links are crawled by search engines which is more important to rank a website in google. I think, Do follow links is very important for website and No follow link need because Google panda and penguin Update 2013 after Now No follow link follow Google. If you Do follow and No follow search do then you can use This tools "https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/firefox/addon/nodofollow/ "

In do-follow, the link juice passes through our website from the website in which it presents. Its helps to increase PR. In No-follow, no link juice passes and no use in creating it.

Both NoFollow and DoFollow are important for the website. But it is said for improving PR one must have do follow links. But they both are links for the user and both can helpful to bring traffic.

Nofollow will be the worth that is certainly issued on the rel capability with the HTML to instruct the various search engines in which website link shouldn't url target's rating inside the search engine's directory. Dofollow will be the worth on the rel capability with the HTML which is automagically to instruct the various search engines in which website link ought to url target's rating inside the search results directory.

Nofollow

Dofollow

In simple words User can see nofollow links and search engine bots cannot see nofollow links to it will not take while counting your PR.

dofollow means both user and robots both can see and it will consider while counting your PR.

So getting dofollow links will increase your page rank and also search engine visibility.

Nofollow is a value of "alt" attribute of anchre tag. It is introduced by google because of increased spam complains by webmasters. These links worth nothing when we talk about SEO.

Dofollow and Nofollow

Dofollow is what add onto the number in total backlinks.
Nofollow is what search engines never consider in total backlinks.

Dofollow is what passes the link juice.
Nofollow links never pass link juice.

No follow link - It gives only traffic to our website. If we get no follow link for a website than search engine would not followed this link.
Do follow link - It gives traffic and page rank for our website. If we get do follow link for our website then it is followed and consider by search engine. If the link having high page rank then we will get some share of this link which gives popularity and benefits to our website.

As long as you get links from authority and high trust sites, both do follow and no follow are good.

Well as per my concern, No follow and Do follow both are a type of tag which is basically used in link.
No follow tag: If we insert no follow tag on any link then search engine crawler can't crawl that link but the user's can view that link. That link will be beneficial for users point of view but not as per search engine point of view.
Do Follow tag: If we insert Do follow tag on any link then search engine can easily crawl that link and also the user's can view that link. That link will be beneficial for both point of view (For search engine and user's point of view)
Now a days' we should to get only Do follow link. we can check do follow and no follow link with the help of QUIRK SEARCH STATUS add ons.

"Nofollow" provides a way for webmasters to tell search engines "Don't follow links on this page" or "Don't follow this specific link."
"dofollow" is a plain HTML link that indicates to users that text is hyperlinked. It also tells search-engine spiders to crawl your link.

These are the attribute of a link, DO Follow is the one which get crawled by Google and it is a very important one because it helps the search engine to know about the existence of your link. While NO Follow is the one which is not crawled by Google it can also help if created in high PR sites.

Do follow links helps to flow juice from one page to another page, It is more beneficial then no-follow links, some site directly provide dofollow links and some sites watch and cheks about the relevancy of links then provide no-follow link and after then when relevancy is correct then no-follow links get converted into do-follow.

There are two type of Backlinks:

1. NoFollow : NoFollow Backlinks are juice less. This type of links tell search engine crawlers not to follow or give credit to the linking website. Although, nofollow links doesn't help in getting link juice, but it useful for driving traffic to your website
2. DoFollow : DoFollow Backlinks does provide Link Juice to the linking website. More the number of DoFollow Backlinks, better are the results.

Nofollow is simply as its name implies it is a instruction for search engines that don't follow this specific link.
Dofollow means search engine follow that specific link and Nofollow means search engine does not follow that link.
For dofollow html code will be <a href="http://www.websitename.com">Linked Text</a>
For nofollow html code will be <a href="http://www.websitename.com" rel="nofollow">Linked Text</a>

I think in the seo process both no follow and do follow links matter
do follow count as back link to the site from search engine. It's important for site ranking to get quality back links.no follow doesn't count as back link to the site from search engine but it can be helpful as an traffic generate source if it's come from high pr sites.

Do-follow-A normal hyper link in which Google and other search engine bots follows through the link is do follow link.
No-Follow-A link that doesn't allows search engines bots to follow through are no follow links. A no follow link is added with rel="nofollow" attribute.

No-follow links and do-follow links are both crawled by Google. But for do-follow it passes a value for the backlink, which is not passed in the case of no-follow.

Dofollow and nofollow is the old techniques. Nofollow links are not index by search engine and not passes the link juice. Dofollow links are index by SE and passes the link juice. But i think both links are important in ranking.

dofollow backlinks are better than nofollow according to me. Because it helps to get page rank juice to your website. dofollow backlinks can also crawl edby google bot and spiders. dofollow are good to index by google. So try to make dofollow links for your website.

Nofollow links are crawled by Google, but they don't send link juice/power like dofollow links. If you check your Webmaster Tools > Search Traffic > Links to your website, you will notice that all links appear there, including the nofollow ones. Nofollow aren't completely useful. For example, high PR blogs/sites are crawled before low PR ones, and if you have a link there, you'll also get your site crawled. This is a good trick to get your site crawled/indexed faster.

A no follow link is created with the nofollow link HTML tag, which looks like this:

<a href="http://www.website.com/" rel="nofollow">Link Text</a>

Nofollow links are crawled by Google but they are not effective like Dofollow links. So Dofollow links are definitely better than Nofollow. But Nofollow link from high PR site is good for your site.

The main target of a website is get more traffic. In this case both nofollow and dofollow are effective. A well known saying that "A website without traffic is like having a store in the mall without customer." So one matter is rest which is backilnks from high page rank site.

Nofollow and Dofollow both are important but its value differs on search engines. As google and emphasis more on dofollow links on the othre hand bing has same value.

From my own experience, you should get both nofollow and dofollow backlinks; but the ratio should be 20/80 for nofollow/dofollow. The mix of nofollow and dofollow backlinks helps make your backlink profile look natural for search engines.

Google considers both Nofollow and Dofollow links to rank a website.

If suppose a webpage of PR 2 has only 4 links (A B C D). Out of which, A & B are Nofollow and C & D are Dofollow

Then, only C & D will get the benefit and receive the link juice from that same webpage of PR 2 i.e. 50% each.

Hello @peterson10012!

If you always wonder what does nofollow mean then probably here is the answer of it, it's a link is set as nofollow, it means Google bot won't crawl the link and won't pass any link juice.

Quote<a href= http://www.yourwebsite.com  rel="nofollow">Example1</a>
<a href= http://www.yourwebsite.com  rel="external nofollow">Example2</a>

REL HTML tag: Did you notice rel html tag?  it's set as nofollow, which means its a nofollow link. Even if nofollow link doesn't pass any link juice but it can help to bring traffic towards your website, so if you are making No follow link then there is no harm. Google doesn't follow these links, however other search engines respect them, I have explained it in detail at the end of the post.

Dofollow link passes link juice and they definitely help you much, in order to achieve good page rank. As it instructs search engine spiders to follow this link.

Quote<a href = http://www.yourwebsite.com  rel="external">Example3</a>

The above link is dofollow, generally when you left comment on other site, you will see links with rel external attribute, rel="external" is just to represent that the link is external, it has nothing to do with backlink type. If you find no rel attribute in link then also its being treated as a dofollow link because  it equals to REL  Dofollow.
G9!

I think the whole idea is that if you're guest posting, you're likely to be at least somewhat reputable, which is why guest posting usually involved follow links. Google wants to make it tough to ensure that only the trustworthy, real businesses who are willing to work hard and put in the effort get links. It's like a filter sorting out the bad apples.  Google doesn't want to give weight to no-follow links because they're just too easy to get these days and encourage spamming.

Nofollow links :- nofollow attributes do not allow search engine bots to follow link. That means if the website owner is linking back to you with nofollow attributes, it does not pass on link juice.

Dofollow Links :- they follow search engines bots and improving search results and passing link juice. In best seo practices they are very useful for the website.

The main difference between nofollow and dofollow links lies in how search engines treat them.

Nofollow Links:
- Nofollow links are HTML tags that instruct search engines not to follow or crawl the linked page.
- They are denoted by the `rel="nofollow"` attribute added to the link's HTML code.
- Search engines typically ignore nofollow links when crawling and indexing websites, meaning that they do not pass any link equity or PageRank to the linked page.
- Nofollow links are often used to prevent passing link juice to potentially spammy or low-quality pages, such as user-generated content, paid advertisements, or links that the website owner does not want to endorse.

Dofollow Links:
- Dofollow links are the default type of links on the web.
- They do not have the `rel="nofollow"` attribute, and search engines are instructed to follow and crawl the linked page.
- Dofollow links pass link equity or PageRank to the linked page, which can help improve the linked page's search engine rankings.
- These links are considered valuable for search engine optimization (SEO) as they contribute to the overall link profile and authority of a website.

The primary difference is that nofollow links do not pass any link equity to the linked page, while dofollow links do, which can potentially impact the search engine rankings of the linked page.

Dofollow links help strengthen your authority and boost your website's visibility, while nofollow links don't directly impact your SEO ranking. With WriterAccess, you can create high-quality content that attracts more visitors and increases your chances of earning valuable dofollow links.
A clear example is affiliate links or links to our legal terms and privacy policies or cookies. Another clear example is links from our site to competitors' content that, although relevant, we are not interested in promoting.

"Nofollow" and "dofollow" are attributes used in HTML links to instruct search engines on whether to follow and pass authority to linked pages. Dofollow links allow search engines to follow them and pass authority, while nofollow links instruct search engines not to follow them or pass authority, typically used for paid links or user-generated content to prevent spam.

Dofollow Links -
Imagine you're sharing a recommendation with a friend about a great restaurant. When you tell your friend about it and provide a link to the restaurant's website, you're essentially giving them a "dofollow" link. This means you're endorsing the restaurant and telling search engines like Google to follow that link and consider it when ranking the restaurant's website in search results. Dofollow links are like votes of confidence or recommendations that can help boost a website's visibility and authority online.

Nofollow Links -
Now, imagine you're chatting with your friend about another restaurant, but this time you're not so sure about it. You mention the restaurant but also add that you're not entirely endorsing it. To make it clear that your recommendation isn't strong, you might say something like, "Check out this restaurant, but I'm not sure if it's great." In the world of websites and search engines, this is similar to using a "nofollow" link. It tells search engines not to follow that link or give it much weight when deciding how to rank the website it points to. Nofollow links are often used for user-generated content, paid links, or links that aren't endorsed strongly.

Why Does It Matter ?
For website owners and SEO (search engine optimization) professionals, understanding dofollow and nofollow links is crucial. Dofollow links can help improve a website's search engine rankings because they're seen as positive endorsements. On the other hand, nofollow links are important for indicating when a link shouldn't influence a site's ranking, such as for advertising or comments where the authenticity or endorsement isn't strong.

In essence, whether a link is dofollow or nofollow affects how search engines perceive and rank websites, making it a key consideration in digital marketing and SEO strategies.
