DMOZ was a glorified link farm with delusions of grandeur. It collapsed under its own bureaucracy - editors on power trips, submission black holes.

It deserved to die. The web outgrew gatekeepers. Now, if you're still mourning DMOZ, you're probably still building GeoCities sites. Evolve or get archived.
