Facebook and Google+ (G+) are both social media platforms, but they have different user bases and features. Facebook is currently the most popular platform worldwide, with a large user base and extensive advertising options. On the other hand, Google+ has a smaller user base and less active engagement.

Before switching to G+ for your business purposes, it's essential to consider the demographics of your target audience. If your target audience is primarily active on Facebook, it might be more beneficial to invest time and resources in improving your Facebook presence. Conversely, if your target audience is more engaged on G+, it might be worth exploring that platform.

Ultimately, the decision should be based on your specific business needs, goals, and the preferences of your target audience. It can also be helpful to research and compare the features offered by both platforms, such as advertising options, analytics, and engagement tools.

Next to fb , google plus is widely viewed as the next best business platform as well as provides significant features.

This is better decision if  and only if face book is closing their account from all over world Or in case of face book is banned for some countries or on all the places.

Evaluating which social platforms to engage with your customers will entirely depend on:
Whether your market / customer base already use that social platform.
Getting traction on a social platform that has a very low amount of users in your industry is next to impossible.

You will notice generally that
1. Facebook is for: entertainment / videos / funny stuff.
2. Google plus is more informational, conversational. This lends itself to more educated topical conversations.
3. Twitter is about news: breaking updates, politics, and trends in breakout.
4. Instagram is purely visual: great for fitness, cars, anything highly aesthetic.
5. Pinterest is about women: great traction for personal care, cosmetics, anything women orientated

Go find where your industry hanging out. That is the best place to engage socially.

Agreed! Google Plus is ideal for enhancing your business, but still Facebook is attracting people with each passing day. Facebook still stands at the leading position for getting maximum visibility.

It would be a really bad business decision to put all your eggs in one basket... Especially when the basked (Google +) still isn't the leader on social media... Business people use Google+ but if i ask 200 people in my close range if they use Facebook or Google + i'm sure 190+ will say... i have a Google+ account but i don't use it.

Why aren't people using G+? I think the interface is just not that simple as they want it to be... Facebook is easier to understand to the minority and as long as the minority is using Facebook, G+ won't grow that hard... so for a marketing perspective and a business perspective i would focus my energy mainly on Facebook and 20% on Google+

Even though G+ has a lot of great tools and features for both personal and business profiles, would be a lie to say that it is a blast in regards of people spending time on it, it is almost a ghost town. Switching completely to G+ is not quite a wise decision, since currently Facebook is the social network where everybody is now. A suggestion would be to have profiles on both, more reach never is a bad idea.

I have never been a user of Google +, because I am fully satisfied with Facebook! But I think, it is never too late to try something new! So I wish you all the best!

Hey Kate actually I myself now using both Facebook and G+ for social media marketing purpose. But the truth is, I have finally realized Facebook is a better choice than G+. Whatever people may say but majority of the people use Facebook.

It pretty depends, all the the social media you mention above are important if you are aiming for traffic n your website. G+ depending on how relevant and engaging your content will be. Don't set aside other social media channel such as facebook and twitter for a massive amount of users nowadays have the said social media.

Hi,
Definitely the best idea here would be using both. Google Plus is still on its early dasy (although it's been on the market a few years now) and we still don't know how much impact it can have on rankings. And Facebook - so many people are using it that you just shouldn't ignore it. It's a really great place for ads. So if it's not too much time for you - do both.
Cheers,
Adam
