Blog is the best for both because blog has lots of facilities like add image, diverse theme, allows to make the blog search engine friendly for making your content more attractive and search engine friendly compared to article submission. You would not wait for the approval of the post as well as you can modify your content at any time. Through blog, you can also implement your social media profile which will help you to get traffic on your site.
Today no one is interested to read a long story with no image and other stuff. Blogs allows you all the facilities like image upload, promotional content, Links and various other things as well. People also like to read blogs compared to articles. So as per my opinion blogs are more reliable compared to articles.
Both are very good techniques of Off-page SEO..if you follow the article submissions you can increase your traffic along with keyword rankings in search engines...and if you follow the blogs, you can increase your website backlinks strength along with keyword rankings in search engines...

Both are mandatory to get higher traffic on your web site and we have to follow some more strategy to make our site easily searchable and rank able.
In my entire career I saw that blog will be the best way to share information with other and you can easily make some real capital through blogging. Just post real content on ur log and advertising it through socail netwqorking sites. Choice best keywords related to entertainment . Best of luck!!
As per my knowlegde article create more traffic with keyword ranking.. and blog increases website backlinks along with keyword ranking... Article and Blog both are beneficial for website to increases more number of traffic..
