Broken links are caused when you click on link that is linked to another page, but the other page has moved, making the link obsolete. It doesn't happen as a result of your computer not doing it right, it is the websites problem.

Broken Links are also called 404 links. When you click on a page or anchor text and if that page is not available. The opened page url is called as broken link.  You can fix them manually. Go to the admin panel and find the URL source. There are various broken link checker tools. They can help you.

One of them is:

A broken link is a link that doesn't work, often resulting in an error page. A broken link happens when the link points to a web page that has been deleted or moved. Why is it important to fix a broken link? Links that are broken will effectively stop search engines from completely indexing your website.

Broken Link Checker for WordPress

To begin with up is Broken Link Checker. This plugin screens joins in your pages, posts, remarks, and even custom fields.

When it discovers a broken connection, the plugin will inform you by means of the WordPress dashboard or by email.

Shockingly Broken Link Checker can put a great deal of strain on your WordPress database and moderate down your site. That is the reason WP Engine has boycotted Broken Link Checker as a refused plugin.

Does that mean it's an awful plugin? Not in the slightest degree! Attempt it for yourself before composing it off.

There are many tools to list the broken links. One of the best tool is google analytics.Other than that siteliner, seocheckup etc are sites where you can find complete information of your site including broken links list and all.
Broken links are the pages which are not existing in the site or server.Delete those pages from the server and sitemap and google analytics and webmasters and mark it as fixed.Or else redirect those pages to the website pages.
