Title: Could CSS Cause Rankings Drop?
Post by: Walalayo on 10-12-2011, 03:34:07
I implemented CSS codes to my home page about 2 weeks ago to see if I liked the effect. I used the exact same material ie. images, links, text.....everything, in the same order, just presented it with CSS.

Well, after a couple of days when the SE's had spidered my site, my visitors dropped to 1/3 of what they'd been and my SERPs plummeted from page 1 for many keywords to being lucky to be on page 5, and those were the best ones.

Is it possible the change to CSS caused this? I wouldn't think it would have any effect whatsoever, but I don't know what else would have caused it. If it was Google only I could understand, but terms I've been ranking number 1, 2 or 3 for on MSN were completely gone.
