Hello everyone,

I am considering buying a domain that uses the Geographic Top Level Domain of .pe (PerĂ¹). The reason why I want to get this GeoTLD is not because I want to operate business in Peru but becase the .pe will be completing the final part of my brand name. From a branding perspective it looks very good and I recevied a lot of positive feedbacks. However from a SEO standpoint my questions are 2:

- Is breaking the name in the domain a bad practice? For example, company name 'Rorope' and the domain becomes 'roro.pe'
- As I do not intend to operate business in Peru, will my SEO ranking be penalized because my domain extension would be kind of targeting users in Peru? I know through google serach console you can target specific countries. Would be a solution to edit the google search console to make sure that I am targeting the countries I want and not Peru?

Thank you very much everyone for your time and help,

Alessandro
