One of my known's website was doing well and then suddenly it was away from the SERP's. Even it was not visible with the name of the site on 1st page. Does my site penalized due to wrong Google ad , as recently i run a Google ad.

Have you checked if the site is penalized or has any penalty right now? If there is any, the first thing you should do is that you try to solve the penalty and after that, you should start ads to get better results.

If the penalty isn't resolved, it's not possible to bring back any site to their previous best performance.
