I know forum posting is best off page technique, but I am little confused, which has more impact a simple link or signature.
Forum signatures are helpful to drive a handful of traffic to your website. They are not very useful but helps to generate business leads sometimes.
Signature is always helpful. Once your signature is enabled, you just need not have to submit link every time. whatever activities you do, your signature will automatically follow.
If is there simple link in the place of sign, how visitor know that which type of website that link? place signature instead of link... and also it was useful for seo
Dear friend, you add your website link in forum profile as well as you can also add your website's link on signature link.
Signature links can not help much [If not any] to improve SERPs. However, they do help to get new pages index faster and you get some direct traffic from Signature links.

Always go for signature. It has many benefits like a user would know what kind of link you have given by reading your signature, and if they found them relevant they might click on it and go to your web page which will result in having a visitor who might be interested in your business.
Another aspect is that it helps a little bit in your keyword ranking of that keyword which you have placed on your link as signature.
Signature links brings nothing to your site in context of some real SEO value. It gives diversity to your link profile, to make it appear more natural to google. Basically that means that it helps trick google to think your linkbuilding is natural, not with purpose.
Forum signatures, however, brings good traffic to your site (along with blog comments) which Neil Patel explained in one of his posts really well. Also Matthew Woodward started building his own blog with that technique solely.
So if you want traffic, go for it, if you think it will help you rank your website, then you're wasting your time doing that

I'm confused that a person who has 121 posts is asking such question.
I think both are same because in the signature you have to add a link to your site whereas in linking you can only get one link at a time whereas in signature all your post will be updated with that amount signature thus increasing the number of links.

Hi @kavyasharma561, what are you worried about? when you can add your website link in the forum profile and your website's link on signature link.
Signature link is useful. Posting on forums gives you the extra place to create a link for your website in forum of signature links. Signature link is allowed by forums after the particular no. of posts after that forum member can signature link in his bio which appears at the bottom of every post.
