Unique titles and meta descriptions

I have a site that has about 100 pages plus about 250 articles pages. Does it help to have unique HTML title tags and meta description tags on every page? In other words, does Google or Yahoo "see" your pages in a negative way if a landing page and the related subpages (within the same section) use the same exact meta description and title?

For any websites Title is the first line seen by the search engine. So its important to have unique titles which are related to the webpage.

Eventhough the landing pages and subpages are in same categories, its always better to have unique title and description.

man this is very much important think it is must that every page has different title it will really support to SEO and website

You are suppose to use different titles for different web pages.

You won't get penalized for this... Page titles should be relative to your web page... I believe writing same titles for all web pages is not a good practice and this may affect your bounce rate.
