agreed that, SEO is a field in which you always have to make yourself updated. Consistent reading and knowledge about the recent updates are the only key to success. You have to change your strategy from time to time because search engines also change their algorithms and criteria

I think yahoo has different strategy for top ranking.

I'd check geo-targeting and hreflang first. If your on-page SEO, backlink profile, and indexation signals are tuned mainly for Canada, Google.com and Google.co.uk SERPs may downrank you.
Audit crawl budget, regional signals, and anchor diversity. Also test CTR and latency via CDN because core algo behavior differs by market.
