you can get back link form twitter,face book, live.com, goolge. and other many bookmarking site. you have to check your backlink at yahoo.

Use article marketing, join forums just like here, or blog commenting. social bookmarking. directory submission. these are SEO stuff, these are the stuff that i used in building backlinks to my site

the easiest method in my eyes to simply find related sites and the request a link exchange. I usually stick their links somewhere in the sidebar homepage, and sometimes on a recommended links page.

Other ways (although most will be rel="nofollow") are to post in sigs on popular forums you're at. Posting in blog comments, and posting on big popular sites (where they allow you to do so) e.g. Yahoo Answers etc.

The safest and best technique though is the classic link exchange.

I actually pay for links and get them submitted inline within text. Not something you're supposed to do but it works well. Other methods are the ones posted above.

Oh and article directory submissions are great too. You bring in some extra related traffic and that certainly helps.

There are several ways to get backlinks to your site.  I think the best is with the link exchanges.  Also, if you have a blog, you can submit it to blog sites, and use the free reciprocal link they give you.  On my blog (Blogger) they are at the bottom of the home page.  They will check too so make sure you actually put their link on your site.  You don't want to get into link purchasing, you are getting into grey hat tactics then.
