Need advise on website optiization

Hello, i need advise about the following:
I have website www.mysite.com that has some content with low traffic/ranking
And I have some different content that supposed to have good ranking/traffic.
Is there any way to increase ranking of www.mysite.com with the help of the second content?
What would be the best strategy for it? Should I create sub page www.mysite.com/subpage and put the second content to it or there is some better recipe?

i support you in creating a new webpage and putting your second content in it but you said it was suppose to get traffic which means it is not getting any traffic yet. make if it starts getting lots of traffic visitors, it may rank your webpage and not really the website itself except you have an internal link to the homepage and other webpages,

Thanks for reply, as I understand it doesn't matter whether you have website with sub pages or different websites. They will rank independently in both cases and will not affect each other. in other words sub page rank doesn't affect website rank.  Is that right?

I would like to recommend you the most common techniques for on-site optimization:
- defining landing pags based on groups of related keywords;
- place important  keywords atthe beginning;
- use keyword optimized alt tags and filenamesfor all images;
- lonk to landing pages  using relevant and consistent link anchor text;
- use a consistent URL structure containing keywords that is user friendly;
- create relevant and natural content containing targeted keywords;
- refine the site architcture to distribute link juice to landing pages. Flatter website architecture is generally beneficial for ensuring minimal dilution of link juice.
