plz explain Google Analytic's New Update - GDPR

Hi Guys,

In the April month (around 12th-13th April) Google emailed their Google Analytics customers with a long email about GDPR and data retention controls. I tried to know about this update but i could not understand it in a satisfied manner.



Can anyone explain it in simple and easiest way?

By default, Google Analytics is not GDPR compliant. When using Google Analytics on your website, you must first obtain the explicit consent of end-users to activate the Google Analytics cookies, as well as describe all personal data processing in your website's privacy policy.
