If I leave a back link for my Manta directory listing, will it help to move up that listing?

Thanks, in advance

Yes, it depends on link characteristics such as it should have "do-follow" quality so that Google considered it for ranking. Also, it should be natural looking and on high PR site.

Not only Mantra directory listing, most of the Directory listing are doing do-follow links. so it may helpful to you improve your page rank. Also you get some little traffic. Submitting to DMOZ will be high impact in your ranking. Because it's most trusted Directory right now.

When one website links to another website, it’s called a link. Other terms commonly used by SEO companies and online marketers include: backlink, linkback, incoming link, inlinks, and inward links. Links are important for SEO because search engines like Google use them as a gauge or measure of a website’s relevance and authority.
