One of the best ways to build links and bring traffic is by posting your link in the comments section of other related blogs. Okay I'm not talking about spamming, but placing your link in the your website section. has anyone had traffic coming in through this method?

It works only for traffic.
Almost all links in the blogs are "nofollow", so there is no any links juice.
But sometime I get some traffic from blogs commenting.

If the comments has been posted on the relevant posts and the comments are even relevant then the traffic comes on the site for sure.

Only thing is, you want to make sure that the blogs you comment on are popular.  If you just started a blog and then comment on another blog with that URL but that blog you commented on is ranked 7,383,494 by Alexa, it isn't going to do jack.  Pretty self-explanatory but some people seem to think they can make a few comments and they will instantly be on page one of Google.

There are quite a lot of blogs that allow dofollow links on username and also in comments as anchor text. You just need to digg google deeper and deeper and you will find many good blogs to comment on. Nofollow links in comment are in my opinion not that bad. I always comment both on dofollow and nofollow blogs to make it as natural as Google will look at it. So, it's to avoid banning. I do it also with other link building methods.

Regarding traffic, I get traffic, when the blog content is relevant with my blog and if visitors think my comments are useful.

Blog commenting is good source of traffic and consider as a backlink as well. Just make sure to put comment on related blogs and make it nice to avoid spam.

Blog commenting only effective if you do this way; choose high PR site with updated cache date, do follow blog, related to your niche, and make and post nice and relevant comment.
