How much traffic do you get from directories?

Can i know How much traffic do you get from directories? or directories submission is only effective for SEO and increasing you keywords rankings in search engines ?

directory submission is of limited value. Hardly anyone looks at directory sites, so you won't get much direct traffic, and search engines pay them little or no attention. directory submission only brings you goodwill and will help you get a good page rank. But if you are looking out for high amount of traffic, use any of the viral marketing techniques or use social media optimization to optimize your site on social networking sites.

You can get a site monitoring system like crazyegg. You will be able to see where your traffic is coming from.

Directory submission is almost dead nowadays.

Depends on the directory, I suppose.
If your business is listed in a legit directory which is actually considered trustworthy and relevant by your potential clients, then yes, you will get decent traffic(if you can be found on the directory) + ranking benefit.
If your business is listed in "linkorama" & "link-e-licious" type of directories, then no. No one looks at those and even Google doesn't care about them.

Most of the directories today are paid and unfortunately doesn't convert and the worst nothing at all to give benefits because there are lots of mediums to consider as well as popular and always engaging.

I do not get any traffic from directories. Web directory submissions are not very helpful these days as Google considers them as spam sites with very less content. Hence these websites are rarely crawled and indexed in search engines.

The more directories your site is listed in, the more inbound links your site will be seen as having, which in turn will improve your link popularity. Link popularity isn't the only thing to consider for SEO. It's not even the single most important thing to consider. But it is still a highly contributing factor and should not be overlooked.

Directory submission sites hardly looks by people, so you won't get much direct traffic. Directory submission only help you get a good page rank(But PR is no more part of SEO). It will just help you to stable your ranking by generating backlinks.
