When a user visits your home page and redirects to another website or close your website then it is said to be bounce rate. Means a user visits your home page only. And exit rate is the rate at which users visit a particular page. Means the average time at which users leave your page.

If a user has closed your webpage at after landing at your webpage then it is called bounce rate.
and f a user has closed your website after seeing a webpage then it is called exit rate.
By calculating both you can analyze that where in your webpage you need improvement and how improve them.

Bounce Rate - It represents the percentage of visitors who enter the site and leave the site rather than continue viewing other pages within the same site.

Exit rate - It is the percentage of visitors to a site who actively click away to a different site from a specific page, after possibly having visited any other pages on the site. The visitors just exited on that specific page

Bounce rate is the fraction of people who landed on a page and immediately left. Bounces are always one page sessions.

Exit rate is the proportion of people who left your site from that page. Exits may have viewed more than one page in a session.

Bounce rate is the percentage of visits, who have entered on a particular page, go no further than that page during their session. Exit rate is a kind of bounce rate that doesn't care about how you got to the page. It still relies on some page being the last page viewed within the visit session however.
