I used to use baclinkwatch.com and bluebacklink.com to know the number of backlinks from my competitor
maybe you could also use it

 Hello,
One of the best methods for competitor analysis is the Alexa ranks. Generally Alexa ranks every website based on the amount of traffic it receives. The lower the ranking the better the more site traffic you have in comparison to other websites.

Thanks

Hi there,

When analyzing competitors, you look at several factors:

- Their business model - target market, features, benefits, etc.
- Their advertising practices - what channels to they utilize? What messaging do they use?
- Try to guess at their advertising budget based on what their ads look like and where they're placed in relation to that of your company.
- In the online advertising space, try to determine how popular their site is in terms of visitors (Alexa rankings can help with this: http://www.alexa.com/). Also try to glean how what search terms they target and how these drive traffic to their site (Hitwise is an excellent tool: http://www.hitwise.com)

Basically, you want to know what they do that's different from what you do and how you can do it better than they can.
Best regards,

Hi friends,

Competitor analysis for SEO is much more valuable than people realize. You should give more important to the following points of your competitors like:

- Onsite competitive analysis
- Identifying broad and niche competitors to analyze
- Analyze quickly which keywords competitors are targeting
- Research and analyze a competitor’s backlink profile, including
anchor text, creation date and the ability to group domains
- Discover what links you need to target based on the backlinks of
sites ranking for a particular keyword.
- Track competitors’ indexed pages and inbound link growth etc.

Thanks
