On-site SEO is pretty simple using WordPress. The off-site is basically building backlinks. Many people do not realize quality matters in regards to backlinks. For example, (I have not checked) I bet this page you asked this question on is a PR n/a. It will take thousands of backlinks on this page rank to have any value in the search engines.
