Generating Traffic to a website!

Hello friends,

Can we get good traffic from social media activities? Please advice me in this regard. i want to increase traffic to my website through Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn and G+. I am regular on these websites, but don't have the exact idea about activities in these websites.

Hello, I'm a greenhorn in SEO here...
I read somewhere that not all social media count. The best to generate traffic and page rank is twitter, then facebook, google+, and pinterest. LinkedIn not so much for website, although it is very good for a company.
