For link building, you need to build good relationships with your niche people. You can do it with posting on communities, forums, writing answers for users, blogs, social groups (Facebook, LinkedIn and Google+).

Add blog section on your website. Focus on your niche business and on your client’s needs. Write posts on a regular basis having relevant, useful and well-structured content.

You can also go for guest posting and find sites and blogs that will accept and publish your article, choose right blog or website relevant to your topic, focus on quality, reputation.

Steps to get High quality backlinks :-

Link building is one of the most important things you can do in terms of off-site search engine optimization. As you probably know by now, search engines like Google tend to rank pages higher in search results based on the number and quality of links to those pages. Essentially, the more links you have, the more likely you will be to rank well when someone searches for keywords related to your website. Some of the most common ways to build links to a website include the following:

Link Requests – This is where you simply ask another website owner to link back to your website. These are really hit or miss and depend on how well you can convince the website owner that your link on their website is beneficial to both them and their visitors.

Link Buying – This is the big no-no, yet it is still happening. Instead of politely requesting a link from a website owner, you approach them with a deal instead. Some consider it as advertising in the form of a link instead of a banner, but Google considers it a good reason to penalize a website.

Directories – There are a ton of directories out there – general directories, local directories, and niche based directories. Some will allow you to create a listing for free while others will charge a fee. The latter doesn’t constitute “bad link buying” even though you are paying for the link.

Content Links – There are a lot of ways to build links via content, from creating articles on article marketing networks to guest blogging with a link in your author bio.

Social Links – I’m not just talking about links in your social profiles (although we will get to those). This refers to all of the ways getting social online (blog comments, forum posting, answering questions, and using social media) can lead to links.

Broken link building on scale using niche specific expired domains: This strategy works very well for locating broken links on scale for any given niche (no content required)

Competitive research in your niche: Just look at any target page a competitor has a link from using tools like Ahrefs and reverse engineer the process they have used to acquire the link.

Good Luck !

Do Forum Links, Submission Links, Profile Links etc still work? By work, I mean do they still boost up your rankings, if yes how much?

Hi,

Link building is important because it is a major factor in how Google ranks Web pages.
"In general, webmasters can improve the rank of their sites by increasing the number of high-quality sites that link to their pages."
Imagine that we own a site promoting wind turbine equipment that we sell. We're competing with another wind turbine equipment manufacturer. One of the ranking factors Google will look at in determining how to rank our respective pages is link popularity.

Thanks

If you want to get the quality links, you should write some original contents for your website. And then you can do some friendly exchange text links, do some promotions in some High-PR or traffic websites etc..

1 Original Contents

Original content is the best way to get much more traffic and exposures in the search engines. Try to write some original contents for your website.

2 Do some friendly exchange text links

Try to exchange text links with the website which have the similar content or in the same industry. But do remember check it often and with non-follow.

3 Do some promotions in some High-PR or traffic websites

Try to find some high-pr or high-traffic websites, and then do some promotions in this websites. If your contents or information is useful for them, they would like to visit often and you maybe can get some high-quality links finally.
