More page views

Hi guys,

Does it makes any SEO sense to create more page views by implementing an extra step / extra page in the conversion process?

eg.
Welcome page -> Category page -> Conversion
vs.
Welcome page -> Category page -> Product page -> Conversion

In other words, it will improve my SEO in any way if i increase the number of page views?
Is OK to convert directly from the category page?
