format issues

I have imported a layout from Fireworks into Dreamweaver. I have the sides of the content areas set so it expands – but that is the problem. As soon as I enter my layout tables the layout expands. Leaving the bottom area well below the fold. How do I stop the bottom area expanding when I enter content? It is fixed pixels.
