HTML/Text ratio: what to change?
« on: 01-15-2014, 08:50:14 »
Hi everybody,
is Sandro Elia from Valencia, Spain. Nice to meet you.

My first entry is about my music blog Música Nueva newbielink:http://musicanueva.es/ [nonactive]
I'm working to optimize my site and now i'm with HTML/Text ratio.
In this moment I have around 11/12% but I read that is important to have between 20 and 70%.

So, need help: what I have to do? I have to insert more articles? Remove images? Remove tags cloud? Improve excerpt length?
umpf... is not easy :(

take care!
Sandro

Hi, Sandro

You are to clean your HTML code. Its crazy to use so long class names like that:

class="post-7099 post type-post status-publish format-standard hentry category-noticias tag-conciertos tag-daily-mail tag-gallagher tag-liam tag-liam-gallagher tag-noel tag-noel-gallagher tag-noticias-de-musica tag-noticias-musicales tag-oasis tag-reunion tag-rock tag-rumores tag-the-sun"><div class="post-criteria-number alignright">

I see that such classes are automatically added by CMS and its not so easy to clean it. Unfortunately this is the problem of almost each CMS.
Can suggest you to make your own html layout first.

I accept this answer you need to cut down the class name.

Creating New CMS is not an Easy task if you don't have the coding knowledge.
But Changing the theme with less class name is that possible to every one so try to change your theme. Find Some good Wordpress theme for your Worpress CMS website.

Also you can add more text in you page to increase your text ratio.
