Using eBay for SEO

Ok bit of a niche one here, but has anyone used eBay to help SEO rankings. I know there linking policy is very strict but on your about me page and on their tutorials and guides sections you can submit content and links. I used this once in the past and saw some amazing traffic gains. It didn't help SEO but i got a lot of referral traffic ? anyone else used eBay with much success ?
