Why number of backlinks shown by Alexa not accurate?

Whenever I want to audit a site's traffic I use alexa.com/siteinfo/domain.com
In the end of the page, Alexa also shows number of backlinks and 5 backlink sources.
It usually happens with me that Alexa shows very less number of backlinks and does not update that data.
My personal website has more than 100 backlinks (seen in SEMrush and Ahre) but Alexa is showing only 7 since last six months.
Has Alexa stopped updating the backlink data for free users?

Of course not. If you build new powerful Do-Follow backlinks, then Alexa will update the backlinks data.

The more Do-Follow backlinks you'll build, the more sites linking Alexa will exhibit.

But unlike other backlinks checker tools,  Alex doesn't show all No-Follow and Do-Follow links.

When you are thinking about getting estimate rank of your blog/site, Alexa is good compared to others but when you are thinking to check the number of backlinks to your site, Alexa isn't a good choice. It is because, Ahrefs is one by which you can get more accurate information about backlinks to your site. They have best crawlers and they update their database several times a day! Alexa might be not having that much powerful crawlers and moreover, they might be not having better algorithms....
Ahrefs is best when you want to check backlinks but alexa isn't. I hope you got your answer.

Yeah, I've had similar issues with Alexa. I advise you check out other tools, such as Ahrefs or Backlink Checker. I know you may not want to pay the subscription, but it's well worth the money, if you ask me.
