Meta description is used to describe something about a web page, Apart this Meta description doesn't much help in search engine Google.

In response to your opening thread, according to MOZ neither meta descriptions nor meta keywords factor into Google's ranking algorithms for web search. Google themselves clarified this a long time ago back in 2009. On their blog they state "Even though we sometimes use the description meta tag for the snippets we show, we still don't use the description meta tag in our ranking." https://webmasters.googleblog.com/2009/09/google-does-not-use-keywords-meta-tag.html

However, with that being said it is interesting to note that a well put together meta description can improve and impact a page's click thru rate.

Meta Description is not ranking factor but it increase CTR of website & CTR is ranking factor of google

Google announced in September of 2009 that neither meta descriptions nor meta keywords factor into Google's ranking algorithms for web search. Meta descriptions can however impact a page's CTR (click-through-rate) on Google which can positively impact a page's ability to rank.
