Bonjour,

Looking for an experienced SEO professional? Choose someone skilled in keyword research, technical SEO, content optimization, link building, and analytics. An experienced SEO can improve website visibility, attract targeted traffic, and increase search engine rankings. Look for proven results, ethical strategies, clear communication, and a strong understanding of the latest SEO practices

Finding an experienced SEO professional is definitely important, especially when you want long-term results rather than quick ranking improvements. I would suggest looking beyond just years of experience and checking the person's previous projects, approach to technical SEO, keyword research, content optimization, and link building.

It's also worth asking how they measure success and whether they provide regular reports. A good SEO professional should be able to explain their strategy clearly and use ethical, sustainable methods rather than promising instant rankings.

Most importantly, look for someone who understands your industry and takes time to understand your business goals. That usually makes the SEO strategy much more effective.

Hello, thanks for sharing this job posting. I think looking for skills in SEO, PPC, and affiliate marketing is a great approach, as these areas work well together in a digital strategy. Coordinating technical SEO, content, and traffic acquisition can often lead to better results. Two years of experience seems like a solid foundation, while motivation and personal achievements can also make a difference. Good luck with your search!

I've sat on both sides of this kind of hire and honestly the resumes all blur together after a while, so the vetting questions matter more than the CV. What I'd want to hear from any candidate is what the first 90 days actually look like — not vague promises about traffic, but a concrete sequence: a technical audit of the site, keyword mapping against pages that already exist, and a content plan tied to search intent rather than volume. If someone can't describe that without hand-waving, that's your first warning sign.

The red flags haven't changed in fifteen years. Guaranteed rankings, packages built around a fixed number of "backlinks per month" with no word on where they come from, and monthly reports that show vanity metrics instead of revenue-adjacent numbers like qualified organic leads. Those are the ones that cost companies real money.

One thing that helps before you even interview is having a benchmark of what a complete SEO engagement normally covers — technical, on-page, content, links, reporting — so when a candidate describes their process you can spot what's missing. Worth a read before your interviews: a run-through of how SEO agencies normally structure their service offering — it's in Finnish but the structure is universal and maps well to what you should be asking about.

Also ask how they measure success and who owns the work. The good ones talk about your business first and search engines second.

Disclosure: I am affiliated with the SEO site linked above.
