Which is better: sitemap.xml or sitemap.html

This question is asked a lot but the correct answer should be both. The XML site map feeds Google spider so it can see what pages you have on your website, including all the internal pages. XML sitemaps also connect your web pages more efficiently. For instance, if you have a lot of posts or pages and they are not necessarily all linked to from the homepage, you really need a place where Google can find out what you have on the site.

You need the HTML sitemap, as well.

I'm confused about sitemap.xml or sitemap.html, please suggest me which is better?

Both sitemap XML and HTML sites are important for a website. XML is for bots, whereas HTML is for visitors. HTML sitemap helps to understand the navigation of the website, whereas XML sitemap helps spiders to read and crawl all pages of the website including internal pages.

sitemap.xml is for search engine bots, sitemap.html is for users. XML feeds crawlers structured URLs, boosts indexation, and improves crawl budget allocation. HTML is just UX navigation.
For SEO, XML is mandatory. Ideally, run both: XML for Googlebot, HTML for usability and internal linking juice.

Both are important. sitemap.xml helps search engines crawl and index your site efficiently, while sitemap.html improves user navigation. Using both ensures better SEO performance and a smoother experience for visitors.
