Redirection is done to pass link juice to the destination page. It is of two types

1. Temporary redirection or 302 redirect: Temporary redirection is done to redirect a web page for limited time period if landing page has some issue or it goes for maintainance. 302 redirect do not pass link juice.

2. Permanent redirection: Permanent redirection is done if a page moved permanent on other url. It passes all the link juice to the destination page

Process of redirection:

302 redirection can be done by adding a small java script code in header of the web page while 301 redirection is done at the server. You can ask your developer to redirect the page. They can do it in 5 minutes.

Drop a 301 in web.config:
<location path="Product.aspx"><system.webServer><httpRedirect enabled="true" destination="/product.aspx" httpResponseStatus="Permanent" /></system.webServer></location> - boom, link-juice saved, no .htaccess hocus-pocus.

Redirecting page traffic involves using 301 or 302 redirects, updating URLs, maintaining SEO value and ensuring smooth user navigation without broken links.
