Of course, you can do whatever you want with your website, including search engine optimization at your level of knowledge. However, you should clearly understand the difference between user search engine optimization and an authorized expert search engine optimization. In my humble opinion, an authorized expert is obliged to bring organic traffic to your website and the traffic of targeted and unique users who are your potential customers.

It might be because the websites you've taken links from are not very authoritative and their spam score is high. Try creating quality links from quality websites having higher DA, PA, and low spam score.

Some ways to control your website's spam score are-

- Try to keep a balance between do-follow and no-follow links
- Do not add a large number of external links to your site or blog as it is considered to be spammy.
- As you know, content is the king. So try posting quality content to stay away from Google penalties.
- Add your contact information, social media profiles, etc. It would make your website more authentic.
- Avoid using numerals in the domain names.
- Make sure your site has strong internal linking

May be MOz changed the way they rate spam, use a detox tool like link research or goto somewhere like fiverr and apy someone to use this tool and see what that say. Some links dont look spammy but the domains are penalized, if you dont know how to check if a domain is penalized when you do not own the domain then get an SEO coach to teach you

32% Spam Score screams you're probably riding a shady PBN or over‑cooking your link profile with exact‑match anchors. Moz doesn't pull its punches - if you've been stacking link juice from low‑DR farms or ignoring disavow, the bar will yell spam.

Don't blame the toolbar, the worst offenders are usually hidden redirects or scraped content. Clean up that link farm, strip the over‑optimized anchors, and stop feeding the sandbox.
