No keywords in your anchor text
Focusing on quantity instead of quality
Getting links from low-quality websites
Ignoring websites with a low PR---getting many High pr links will get you caught, you should also include some low PR links..

Yes you are right. People think that if they have lots of content they will get lots of traffic. And yes it works but they dont know whats long term traffic only unique content gets you  long term traffic...
